Rating by category:
Excellent facilities, great staff, great restaurant, fantastic location. Rooms an excellent size and well maintained. Great shower, good ironing facility and room lighting good.
Quiet room (facing the Convention Centre).
The web site was misleading in indicating that there was a separate lounge facility. This was important for us under the circumstances and marred our visit (one of us needed a good night's sleep prior to surgery and the other had to take a sleep-deprived test the next day!!) Hotel and parking access difficult - parking facilities very cramped.
The proximity to shopping, restaurants and the waterfront
We had booked a few months ago and then rang up last week for an upgrade to a larger room and balcony. We were told of the cost accepted and assumed we had the upgrade. Upon arrival we were told this was not the case and the upgrade had only gone through for one night and not the two of our stay.... This was dissapointing and inconvenient to shift from one room to another...so we did not choose the upgrade for the one night....
I thought that the lay-out of the apartment and use of space was excellent. I very mich liked the furnishings and the presentation and cleanliness.
I was not impressed with the Reception staff at all, but found the housekeeper on my floor to be warm, welcoming and informative.
Our son had his wedding reception at the convention centre so it was an ideal choice for us to stay at the Medina, in saying this it is a ideal place to stay with the train station near by, the access to the river and a short walk to perth's shopping precinct
Nice, large sized rooms, functional hotel with good facilities in a fairly central location. Swimming pool a bonus.
Internet was shown as $1 per hour on our booking, but was actually around $24 a day, which was too expensive. The room key card system doesn't work all the time - which lead to some frustrating moments - we even had the cards re-issued 4 times (on a 3 day stay) but to no avail.
Me and my partner loved having a little flat to ourselves in central Perth. It was great having a separate living room and kitchenette and everything was nice and clean. We stayed in a one room apartment and it was better than basic but not quite luxury.
Our balcony looked out onto the Conference centre which we were happy about as it wasn't the main road as with the other side of the building, but not ideal. The location was...interesting. Lots of business blocks and not many restaurants or bars, but it was only about a 10-20 minute stroll to more lively places.
Helpful staff. Cleaning and room service was of a very high standard.
Considering the high cost of rooms, it was very surprising that the newspapers were not complimentary. Guests should be warned that items such as newspapers will appear on the final bill, since it is highly unusual for international hotels to charge for newspapers. Also annoying and unfair are the charges for other wise cheap replacement items eg. washing powder or milk cartons. In rooms that cost around $280 per night, many of these items should be complimentary.
Convenience to conference venue. Soundproof walls.
TV reception poor. No Foxtel to watch Football (although they said they had Foxtel). Accommodation for 2 persons, but tiny coffee pot - was replaced on request, but replacement was faulty. Mould in bathroom. Portrayed as 5 star accommodation, but 4 star value.
Nice location, just next door to southwest coach bus terminal.
Comfortable, convienent to city shopping with friendly and helpful staff
Friendly staff, apartments well appointed and light. Good value in comparison with equivalent venues in the cbd.
Good location for business but not much choice for restaurants/takeways close by at night. Apartments look a little dated in aspects given its age eg TVs
They looked after me in a Medical emergency. Alex and the Duty manager were outstanding in what they did for me
We cannot praise this hotel enough. We found it to be total luxury on a small budget, the apartment was spacious, immaculately clean and had every thing you could possibly need including a balcony where we were allowed to sit and have a smoke without bothering anyone. The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional and this will be our first choice of hotel next time we stay in the city.
The entrance to the hotel and the carpark could be better signposted.
I liked the location of the premises
Not being told the correct information in regards to having monies with held against credit card, also a separate charge on card when leaving while still having to wait for original monies to be returned.
